ANZAC Station

Anzac Station, part of Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel Project, is a new underground train station designed as a “pavilion in the park”. It’s located on St Kilda Road, near the Shrine of Remembrance and Royal Botanic Gardens. The station features a distinctive timber canopy, a major artwork called “Future Wall Painting”, and is designed for accessibility with platform screen doors and a direct train-tram interchange.

It exemplifies the design principles that have guided the stations’ architecture: openness, authenticity, integration between the above- and below-ground realms, connection to nature and First Nations culture and a unique identity that responds to the history and character of its place.

As part of Melbourne’s transformative ANZAC Station development, Heritage Glass were engaged by managing contractor CYP to delivered a comprehensive glazing package that combined architectural elegance with robust performance. The works spanned across roof skylights, external façades, internal linings, lift glazing, balustrades, and smoke barriers—designed and installed to meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and visual impact.

This glazing package helped define ANZAC Station’s architectural identity—delivering a seamless blend of transparency, strength, and sophistication. The result is a future-ready transport hub that meets the demands of public infrastructure while elevating the passenger experience.
