This program is part of a larger state-wide initiative to increase mental health bed capacity and reduce pressure on emergency departments. The “P144” designation comes from the total number of new beds being added across four Victorian health services.

Heritage Glass was awarded the contract to extend the existing curtain wall and external window systems—an undertaking that demanded precision and expertise. This process required meticulous alignment with the original architecture in terms of aesthetics and performance, along with ensuring structural and thermal compatibility. Achieving seamless integration between the existing building and new construction was crucial, while addressing potential challenges such as water intrusion, condensation, and material compatibility. Rising to the challenge, Heritage Glass successfully designed, engineered, supplied, and installed five levels of unitized curtain walls and external window systems, featuring locally sourced double-glazed units and aluminum frames.
